Sami Atacama

We stayed here for 3 nights following our trip into the salt flats. The rooms are large and comfortable with a covered seating area outside. Large clean bathroom. We had a huge water bottle with tap in the room. Staff were extremely helpful and some spoke English which was so handy as embarrassingly I can't speak Spainish. If you need to pick up a Chilean sim, they sell them in the reception for around $2 US with 1gb of data. It can then be topped up. There is a lovely hot tub which can be booked in 1 1/2 hour sessions. No fridge in our room but there is a communal fridge for all to use. This hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the centre. It's a flat walk. However if you don't fancy that , don't worry. The hotel provides a free shuttle service, drop off and pick up pretty much all day. You just message on WhatsApp and they pick you up within about 5 to 10 mins. So don't worry about being slightly out of town. We booked a trip to El Tito geysers in the town and there was no issue picking us up from this location. A very relaxing stay with friendly helpful staff who are all the same family. Highly recommended.

We absolutely loved our time at Sami Lodge for the following reasons. We couldn’t fault it and would 100% recommend to anyone staying in San Pedro. - The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating; providing San Pedro information and recommendations. - The accommodation was a lovely quiet and relaxing setting. - The rooms were spacious and comfortable. - Everything was very clean. - The breakfast was included and made to order, fresh healthy options. - They offer takeaway breakfasts for early starts. - They offer a very reasonable dinner (we didn’t try) - They offer a free shuttle to the centre as it’s slightly further out from the main shops/restaurants. We only used this once as we had our own car. They also have parking onsite.

We had an unfortunate experience with the lady running this hotel. We did not book online, as we wanted to see the rooms and property before committing. I communicated with her through WhatsApp to ask if we could come by. When we arrived I asked to see the room that was available, and she was very hesitant to allow me. She said normally she required guests to register and pay before they can see the room. When she did take me to see the room, I casually asked if there was hot water, she got angry and said these are the kinds of questions that will be answered after we have registered and paid. She wouldn’t let me see any other areas of the property and lectured me on how she doesn’t have time to show rooms to every guest who just shows up. This hotel was a top result when I searched on forms like Priceline. I imagine that most people book online and pay in advance. This hotel must be used to selling their rooms online, and doesn’t feel the need to practice good hospitality to prospective paying guests, as most guests have already paid before they show up. From what I did see, the rooms were dark, the property looked shabby, and there was loud music and guests in the pool area. I’m glad I went in person instead of booking online. We ended up staying a few nights at La Rukka and at Ittai Hotel. Both places had lovely hosts who were happy to show us the rooms and property, and answer any questions we had, including if there was hot water!

Hotel excelente. Administrado por uma família, são extremamente receptivos. Tem um serviço de transfer gratuito para o centro. Quartos ótimos, banheiro bons. Café da manhã EXCELENTE! Me faltam palavras para elogiar o quão foi bom ficar hospedada ali.

Hotel incrível, nos receberam com toda hospitalidade,gentileza e carinho. Mari se fez uma pessoa que nos orientou muito sobre São Pedro do Atacama. Longe com exelente limpeza ,rústico más bastante confortável. Nos colocando na imersão deste local estonteante

Lugar muy acogedor atendido por sus dueños y familia, todos muy serviciales y atentos a las necesidades de los pasajeros. Comida muy pero muy rica (hecha por los dueños) y situado en un lugar de total y absoluta tranquilidad. Cumplen con todos los servicios que ofrecen (jacuzzi, piscina, y traslado de acercamiento al centro hasta las 23:00). Sin duda un lugar para desconectarse o llegar a descansar después de un día de actividades en SPA

Foi uma grata surpresa para meu marido e eu, nossa experiencia na pousada SAMI: visto pro vulcão Licancabur, quarto espaçoso, banheiro espaçoso, comodidades e um item que demos muito valor nos 7dias que ficamos por lá: eles deixam um galão de agua mineral no seu quarto pra você se servir no quarto e encher sua garrafa de água para os passeios que recomendam no minimo 1,5 litros para levar. Além disso, eu quero agradecer toda hospitalidade da Dona Ruanita, Briana e Mari que foram MARAVILHOSAS e nos fizeram sentir como se estivessemos em casa literalmente, pois passamos por um episodio de mal de altitude e ficamos bem debilitados e elas cuidaram de nós com chá, comida leve, lanchinhos especiais, recomendações pra nos sentirmos melhores nos passeios de dia seguinte. Foi um tratamento de casa de mãe ou vó. Super recomendo! Dicas de ouro pra vocês: 1. CHIP = No SAMI já vendem o chip da Entel (melhor sinal na região) para usarem fora da pousada ( lá tem wi-fi ) e é mais barato que na cidade. Durou até voltarmos pro Brasil. 2. REFEIÇÕES = Outra coisa que soubemos lá: no SAMI servem, além do café da manhã (incluso na diária), o almoço e jantar que também é mais barato que na cidade e de uma qualidade incrivel (entrada + prato principal + sobremesa), com bebidas a parte. A Dona Ruanita é uma cozinheira ótima! 3. TOUR ASTRONOMICO = procurem a Mari que oferece esse serviço e cobra bem mais em conta que nas agencias da cidade, além de uma introdução maravilhosa sobre as estrelas, espaço, como são vista hoje e como eram vistas pelos povos nativos do Atacama. Pós isso ela mostra o herbario local e objetos nativos. É uma verdadeira aula. Ficamos encantados. Importante = a fase da lua é primordial para ver o céu. A Mari explica. 4. TRANSFER = se informe se o transfer te deixa e pega na porta do hotel SAMI, pois o nosso nos deixou na porta da pousada e na hora de ir embora disse que não ia até lá. Foi um transtorno. Então combinem isso ou fechem o transfer com a pousada SAMI. 5. PREVENÇÂO = levem garrafa de no minimo 1,5 litros e encham na pousada pra levar pro passeio, chapeu, oculos, protetor solar todos os dias, protetor labial, colirio (olho seco), neo soro (nariz seco), gatorade para ajudar na hidratação e bolacha agua e sal nos dia de mal estar. Resumindo: tirando o transfer, toda a experiencia na pousada, nos passeios foi um sonho realizado. Não deixem de ir para o Atacama, é um lugar magnifico, com paisagens unicas , cheio de vida que nos impressionou bastante e se hospedem no SAMI vocês vão gostar.
